The volume meter is designed to measure the volume of fuel passing through the column, and is a four-cylinder hydraulic engine driven by fuel flowing through it. In this case, the amount of leaking fuel is converted into the number of revolutions of its shaft. In the volume meter, the fuel enters through the lower flange into a chamber in which four sleeves with pistons are located. Each pair of pistons is connected by a connecting rod, which, in turn, is fixed to the crankshaft through a rolling bearing. When filling the chamber with fuel, the pistons move in turn to the upper point. The chamber of each piston holds 125 ml of fuel. The movement of the piston rotates the crankshaft, on which the distribution valve (spool) is fixed. The spool has several inlet and outlet openings. After filling one of the chambers with fuel, the pistons, continuing to move, push the fuel through the spool into the exhaust chamber, from which the fuel enters the connected system. At the same time, fuel is being taken in another (empty) chamber at this moment. 0.5 liters of fuel is pumped per revolution of the crankshaft. At the upper end of the shaft there is a coupling for connecting the shaft of the pulse generator. To adjust the dose given, it is necessary to carry out an adjustment.
The adjustment operation is performed to ensure the necessary accuracy of measuring the amount of product dispensed by the column. In the case of using such a volume meter, only the electronic adjustment of the fuel dose is carried out. Electronic adjustment consists in changing the value of the adjustment coefficient stored in the memory of the control unit. Access to the adjustment operation is restricted by a four-digit password stored in the device, as well as a sealed S3 toggle switch "Operation/Setting up". To control the change in the adjustment coefficient, the device has a counter for the number of adjustment operations. The electronic adjustment operations are recorded in the form on the shopping mall. Before starting a new adjustment, it is necessary to check the readings of the counter for the number of adjustment operations with the entries in the form. The coincidence of the meter readings with the entry in the form will indicate the absence of unauthorized manipulations with the adjustment coefficient. After adjustment, the column is presented to the bodies of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology for verification.
